It is with great regret that the club heard of the death of David Crane - he will be sorely missed by the chess playing community of Leicstershire.
David had been a very popular member of the Wigston club for many years, and although a League player with the Aylestone & latterly Littlethorpe clubs, he had been a very regular attendee and competitor in our club tournaments.
His funeral at Gilroes was well attended by chess players from across the county which included our club president Barrie Cooper and also Paul Gray, Frank Hulford and Ray Townsend.
